'Game Of Thrones' Writer Joins Amazon's 'Lord Of The Rings' TV Series

Bryan Cogman, writer and producer on Game of Thrones is hired to consult on Amazon’s upcoming LoTR TV series, according to Variety.


Cogman began his time on Game of Thrones as the assistant to series creators and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
He wrote 11 episodes of GoT including "Stormborn" and "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms."
Lord of the Rings is reportedly set to begin filming in Scotland later this summer. According to the Daily Record, a new studio space in Leith, Edinburgh will be home to filming on the series if construction on the facility is completed in time.

Little is known about the Lord of the Rings series beyond the fact it will explore new storylines preceding J.R.R. Tolkien’s "The Fellowship of the Ring."
The tv series is expected to start shooting in 2020 and arrive on Amazon Prime the following year.
